Day 144: Please refrain from imagining dragons

It's been a long time since the kids got to hang out with their cousins. We blocked off some time and headed over to their house for a fun pizza party.

What I'm watching today

Radioactive (2020, Amazon Prime streaming) - This is the story of Marie and Pierre Curie as they worked to discover and understand radioactivity. It chronicles the nonsensical sexism that prevented Marie Curie from being respected in her field, which she dominated. It chronicles the nonsensical fad of Spiritualism that rose to prominence at the turn of the Twentieth Century. And it chronicles the nonsensical drive of Marie Curie to be better than everyone else, which inflated her ego but also magnified the slight she felt at the hands of her male peers. This movie is edited rather oddly; in order to cram as much story as possible into the movie the filmmakers chopped the scenes to bits. The film does, however, use flash-forward as an effective tool to demonstrate the great impact (both good and bad) of the Curies' work.

(They take up considerably more room than the unshredded sheets of paper.) 75  ✅  Clean off the workbench Getting rid of the shred pile was the main roadblock in completing this task, but it's done. And now there's a bike up ...
