Day 143: Oh, these shoes are gorgeous!

What I'm doing today

Cycling - My road bike shoes finally arrived from Amazon so I was able to hop on the bike after the kids were in bed. I did a 20-minute beginner ride just to get acquainted with the bike and system, and I was fun. We did two massive virtual hill climbs and legged it out at the end. It felt great to be honest. I didn't have any aches and pains afterward, and I felt energized. I can't wait to get back on tomorrow and to start doing longer rides.

Installing - I have an Android laptop, and I want to use it as my primary software development computer. Unfortunately most development environments and software aren't suitable to be run on Android since the Linux kernel is a stripped down version. I have been researching various workarounds and attempting to install various libraries and toolkits. After much research I discovered that there is a Python environment compiled for the Android mobile environment. I installed it and it works just fine on the laptop as well. And I was able to install advanced data science libraries that weren't available using my previous methods. So now I can resume my data science classes and complete the exercises.

I'm sure there are undesirables lurking beneath the surface, so I'll let it lie for a few days before I do anything else with it. 51.  ✅  Deal with the shred pile This took days. I've been accumulating junk mail, old bills, and literally anything with my name, a family member's name, or our address on it for several months resulting in a two-foot tall stack of papers. It couldn't be done all at once, because (A) the shredder kept overheating, and (B) I kept running out of places to store the shreds. (They take up considerably more room than the unshredded sheets of paper.) 75  ✅  Clean off the workbench Getting rid of the shred pile was the main roadblock in completing this task, but it's done. And now there's a bike up ...
