Day 142: Recreational auto repair

What I'm doing today

Repairing - A few weeks ago while I was backing into the garage, a piece of gear had fallen of the wall and was lying on the floor next to the wall. I didn't see it, and when I backed up and pinned it between the wall, my workbench, and my bumper, the bumper was the thing that gave in to the force. (In order to fit the car in the garage, I need to park it right up against the wall.) It didn't do much cosmetic damage, but it did pop out the bumper body panel and break the internal bracket that holds the panel in place. Easily fixed. After a trip to Subaru to pick up a $7 part, I enlisted my trusty helper and we put the car back together in about 10 minutes. Ironically, we didn't need to remove the panel to replace the bracket that holds the panel in place.

It couldn't be done all at once, because (A) the shredder kept overheating, and (B) I kept running out of places to store the shreds. (They take up considerably more room than the unshredded sheets of paper.) 75  ✅  Clean off the workbench Getting rid of the shred pile was the main roadblock in completing this task, but it's done. And now there's a bike up ...
