Day 136: Strolling with friends

What I'm watching today

Transformers: War For Cybertron Trilogy: Siege (2020, Netflix streaming) - I heard about this series for the first time a few months ago and got excited, mainly because Rooster Teeth Studios were going to be the team creating the show. I watched the first few episodes and I enjoyed the show. The story makes a few changes to some major characters, and the tone is slightly different in order to blur the lines between good and evil, but the animation is stellar. The show looks like a comic book come to life, which makes up for the mundane writing. So far I liked what I saw, and I'll be tuning in for more in the future.

What I'm doing today

Strolling - Some friends who also have a newborn and have been holed up under strict quarantine for the past five months were passing through town, so we all met up at the park across the street. We took a walk, played some Pokemon Go, and caught up. It was a perfect day weather-wise too, which  made it that much more enjoyable. Unfortunately the park was inundated with adolescents from a summer church camp who were not wearing masks and seemed to be everywhere not social distancing.

What was left was a smooth patch of barren soil. I'm sure there are undesirables lurking beneath the surface, so I'll let it lie for a few days before I do anything else with it. 51.  ✅  Deal with the shred pile This took days. I've been accumulating junk mail, old bills, and literally anything with my name, a family member's name, or our address on it for several months resulting in a two-foot tall stack of papers. It couldn't be done all at once, because (A) the shredder kept overheating, and (B) I kept running out of places to store the shreds. (They take up considerably more room than the unshredded sheets of paper.) 75  ✅  Clean off the workbench Getting rid of the shred pile was the main roadblock in completing this task, but it's done. And now there's a bike up ...
