Day 124: A little off the top

What I'm listening to today

Hardcore History Addendum (2020, Episode 12: "Wolf Pack Hunting with Hanks") - Tom Hanks dialed in to Dan Carlin's other podcast to talk history and promote his new movie Greyhound. I gotta say I was impressed with how well-read Tom Hanks was on several historical topics, and his anecdotes were interesting and entertaining. He also provided several insights on making a film in which ideas need to be expressed on screen but as a filmmaker you can't afford to spend minutes of dialog to hash them out. This podcast made me want to watch the movie, which I was on the fence about previously.

What I'm doing today

Trimming - The 8yo's hair was just getting to be too much. I had to do something about it. So I did.

Managing - I haven't used glucose sensors in a while. The last time I did, they got to be so much of an annoyance that I wanted to throw them up against the wall. But our HSA got replenished this month, so I ordered a box and decided to test my patience again. So far so good.

I've been accumulating junk mail, old bills, and literally anything with my name, a family member's name, or our address on it for several months resulting in a two-foot tall stack of papers. It couldn't be done all at once, because (A) the shredder kept overheating, and (B) I kept running out of places to store the shreds. (They take up considerably more room than the unshredded sheets of paper.) 75  ✅  Clean off the workbench Getting rid of the shred pile was the main roadblock in completing this task, but it's done. And now there's a bike up ...
