Day 113: Like a weed

We took the baby to the doctor today for her one-month appointment. The doctor confirmed for us that the baby is growing like a weed. After being in the 30th percentile at birth in length, she measured in the 90th percentile today, having grown two full inches in length.

We also had a first today. Baby took a bottle for the first time this evening. It took a little practice and a pep talk, but once she got the hang of it, she wolfed down the 2 ounces of milk in no time. Of course she drank it way too fast, so she spit up a good bit, but that's irrelevant.

What I'm watching today

Spaceballs (1987, Netflix streaming) - This movie is so dumb, but I love it. I never noticed this before, but Spaceballs the Coloring Book and Spaceballs the Lunchbox in Yogurt's gift shop are both Transformers merchandise. Apparently Mel Brooks wasn't allowed to do any merchandising for the film (or else George Lucas would sue him) so they made it one of the central jokes of the movie. Pretty clever, Mel Brooks.

I'm sure there are undesirables lurking beneath the surface, so I'll let it lie for a few days before I do anything else with it. 51.  ✅  Deal with the shred pile This took days. I've been accumulating junk mail, old bills, and literally anything with my name, a family member's name, or our address on it for several months resulting in a two-foot tall stack of papers. It couldn't be done all at once, because (A) the shredder kept overheating, and (B) I kept running out of places to store the shreds. (They take up considerably more room than the unshredded sheets of paper.) 75  ✅  Clean off the workbench Getting rid of the shred pile was the main roadblock in completing this task, but it's done. And now there's a bike up ...
