Day 94: Arbor Day

When is Arbor Day? It's in June, right? No, wait that's Flag Day, and that was a few days ago. Ok, Googling... Crap Arbor Day is in April. Well I was going to do this whole big Arbor Day thing, because my fruit trees have fruit on them, but no. Oh well. Wait, Arbor Day and Earth Day are in the same month? Maybe we should spread those out or something. Anyway, here's what I got:
  • Pears - Not as abundant as last year when we were swimming in tiny pears all summer, but still plenty on the tree.
  • Peaches - Despite the size of this peach tree (only about 10 feet tall) it is a trooper. I spied 6-10 tiny fuzzballs.
  • Granny Smith apples - After last year's disappointing harvest, it looks like the green apples are bouncing back.
  • The other apple tree - I still don't know what variety of apple this is, and it looks like this year is going to be a bust. I can't find more than a few apples on this tree.

I'm sure there are undesirables lurking beneath the surface, so I'll let it lie for a few days before I do anything else with it. 51.  ✅  Deal with the shred pile This took days. I've been accumulating junk mail, old bills, and literally anything with my name, a family member's name, or our address on it for several months resulting in a two-foot tall stack of papers. It couldn't be done all at once, because (A) the shredder kept overheating, and (B) I kept running out of places to store the shreds. (They take up considerably more room than the unshredded sheets of paper.) 75  ✅  Clean off the workbench Getting rid of the shred pile was the main roadblock in completing this task, but it's done. And now there's a bike up ...
