Day 60: Another milestone

What I'm watching today

Love, Death + Robots (2019, Netflix streaming) - I had never heard of this show before flipping through Netflix this evening looking for something to watch. I really love the concept. The series consists of 18 sci-fi shorts (10-15ish minutes each). So far I've seen future robot on vacation visiting a post-apocalyptic city, time-traveling astronauts in a simulation, and battling genetically engineered monsters. But my favorite one so far centered around a young couple who movies into an apartment and discovers a fledgling civilization developing in their antique icebox. Most of the episodes are animated using a variety of animation techniques, which is interesting and fun. This is no Black Mirror, but it is entertaining and unique.

What I'm doing today

Walking - After a rough night followed by a few hours of dozing on the couch this morning, I finally got moving. I took the boys for a walk around a park on the north end of town. We took some old crackers with it and lingered by a pond to feed some ducks. The ducks were all sleeping, but we found some geese to feed.

Sorting - I thought I had finished sorting old boys clothes yesterday, but then I found a few more bins and bags. I went through the rest of those today, and now I think I'm done sorting the boy clothes. Next up will be sorting, inventorying, and washing all the girl baby clothes.

What was left was a smooth patch of barren soil. I'm sure there are undesirables lurking beneath the surface, so I'll let it lie for a few days before I do anything else with it. 51.  ✅  Deal with the shred pile This took days. I've been accumulating junk mail, old bills, and literally anything with my name, a family member's name, or our address on it for several months resulting in a two-foot tall stack of papers. It couldn't be done all at once, because (A) the shredder kept overheating, and (B) I kept running out of places to store the shreds. (They take up considerably more room than the unshredded sheets of paper.) 75  ✅  Clean off the workbench Getting rid of the shred pile was the main roadblock in completing this task, but it's done. And now there's a bike up ...
