Day 52: Dude, where's my shoes?

Day 52, and we're still playing with a full deck.

What I'm listening to today

SinCast (podcast) - This is the podcast produced by the guys from Cinema Sins, the team that also brought you the Everything Wrong With... series on YouTube. These guys break apart movies piece by piece and use their industry knowledge to describe the ins and outs of the directing, cinematography, music, script, and acting. Ultimately they give each movie a rating and a recommendation. I generally don't agree with most of their opinions, but I do enjoy hearing about how movies are made and what other people think about them.

What I'm doing today

Searching - The other day the 3yo stepped in poop in the back yard. So I confiscated his shoes and set them aside. After scrubbing them clean, I set them out on the deck to dry. And they disappeared off the face of the earth. No idea where they went, but I've been searching for them. A particular 3yo claims that he "put them in the shoe center in the middle of the circile in the back yard" and that he also "put them underneath the black race car" but who knows? We'll keep looking.

Driving - We needed to get out of the house today, so I ordered the two older kids into the car, and we went for a drive. We started out heading north toward Monument and then west toward Mt. Herman. We explored a new housing development and lake along Beaver Creek and then went horse and cattle gazing along Hell Creek. Then we turned around, crossed I-25, and headed toward Black Forest. We headed down Rollercoaster Drive and made a pit stop at Fox Run Regional Park to look at the fountain, and then we were on our way back home. It was a good way to kill an hour.

Day 91: Cleanliness

73. ✅  Clear out the flower bed in the front yard Two words: scorched earth. Garden hoe: loosen the dirt. (Broke that hoe.) Shovel: remove the dirt. Sieve: Filter out all the crap in the dirt. What was left was a smooth patch of barren soil. I'm sure there are undesirables lurking beneath the surface, so I'll let it lie for a few days before I do anything else with it. 51.  ✅  Deal with the shred pile This took days. I've been accumulating junk mail, old bills, and literally anything with my name, a family member's name, or our address on it for several months resulting in a two-foot tall stack of papers. It couldn't be done all at once, because (A) the shredder kept overheating, and (B) I kept running out of places to store the shreds. (They take up considerably more room than the unshredded sheets of paper.) 75  ✅  Clean off the workbench Getting rid of the shred pile was the main roadblock in completing this task, but it's done. And now there's a bike up ...
