Looking around the room this morning at my kids playing with trucks and magnetiles, I came to the realization that undoubtedly, sometime very soon, I will need to learn how to cut hair.
I had to get out some tools today. The 3yo was fascinated and completely adorable every time he pointed to my drill and asked me if I was going to use my jackhammer. And then in the true spirit of one-upmanship, he insisted that his "screwdriver was floating on his computer" and that was somehow better than my jackhammer. It probably is. What do I know?

What I'm watching today
Jay and Silent Bob Reboot (2019, Amazon Prime Video) I pulled this up on Amazon Prime late last night to kill time. I should have turned it off when it started to go downhill (about 10 minutes in). Don't waste your time.
Aladdin (1992, Disney+ streaming) This is without question my favorite Disney feature film. My kids love it too, and I don't mind that we've watched it a few dozen times since Disney+ came online. (Move over, Frozen.) Robin Williams' performance as the Genie is the benchmark by which all subsequent vocal acting performances are judged. And has there ever been a Disney villain as truly evil as Jafar?
DEVS (2020, Hulu streaming) Ok, two episodes in and I'm hooked. Directed, written, and produced by the guy that wrote 28 Days Later and wrote and directed both Ex Machina and Annihilation, there's not a doubt in my mind that I'm going to like this show. Plus it has Ron Swanson as a messed-up (probably sociopathic) tech CEO with his finger on the pulse of the greatest technological innovation in the history of humanity. Or something. There's a lot of forced symbolism and multiple unnatural conversations about cause and effect, in case it isn't clear what the subtext of the show is all about.
Parry Gripp - If you have little kids, even if you've never heard of Parry Gripp, you have almost certainly heard Parry Gripp. When he's not fronting the band Nerf Herder or creating sing-alongs for the Netflix show Storybots, he's curating original content on YouTube for kids. If you've ever found yourself with a little ditty stuck in your head about raining tacos, narwhals eating bagels, or cats flushing toilets, you have Parry Gripp to thank. In our house we like to sing, and we like to dance. This often evolves into epic dance parties in the living room with YouTube music videos playing in the background. Today was no exception, and Parry Gripp did not disappoint.

Fixing the coat rack - Allow me to introduce you to my children: the Destroyers of Worlds. They have a knack for smashing doorknobs, defacing walls, turning important documents into art, and, most recently, ripping the pegs off of the coat rack. So I scraped off all the old glue, drilled a pilot hole, reattached the peg with glue, and then reinforced it with a small wood screw. At least they won't be wrecking this one again any time soon. However there are three more intact pegs all ready to be ripped down.
Spa day - Somehow my daughter got it in her head that I'm good at painting nails. I'm not.

Buying drugs - One of my usual prescriptions is about to run out soon, and I was worried about reordering, because y'know there's a health crisis going on. I was expecting a long ordeal and disappointing results. But it turns out it was a piece of cake, and CVS Caremark provided 2-day shipping at no charge.
I thought about doing more today, but just didn't have the energy. I wanted to work on fixing my daughter's broken dresser drawer, but that requires the use of a tablelsaw, and black smoke came out of my 40yo tablesaw a few weeks ago. So that project is on hold.
